Meeting the requirement for Defra Module 4 this course covers the skills required to operate powerboats in swiftwater and high energy flood environments. It builds on skills already learnt in SRT and applies them to working from boats in swiftwater and high energy floods.
COURSE CONTENT
Includes:
- Foundation powerboat operations
- Powerboat handling in swiftwater conditions (ferry glides, breaking in & out, holding station etc.)
- Casualty management techniques
- Access/egress options in powered boats
- Night operations
- Searching from powered boats
- Capsize and recovery drills
COURSE PRE-REQUISITES
Current Rescue 3 SRT certification or alternative Defra Module 3 compliant certification
DURATION
5 days or 4 day add on to RBO/RYA Level 2
